Nursing Quality Indicators

Nursing Quality Indicators

Nursing Quality Indicators. Quality indicators can reflect various aspects of nursing care, such as outcomes, process, and structure.  In the case of Mr. J, there are several nursing-quality indicators that nurses can apply to identify various issues that can interfere with patient care. One of the nursing quality indicators that can be applied in this case is outcome indicators. An example of this type of indicator is pressure ulcers. Mr. J has developed pressure ulcers considering that his daughter noticed a red, depressed area. Pressure ulcers are injuries that develop on the skin due to prolonged pressure. Pressure ulcers can lead to complications such as infections, which affect a patient’s quality of life. Pressure ulcers limit the mobility of a patient, which tends to threaten a patient’s well-being.
