Assignment 1
Read these two non-academic links describing the science behind implicit association:
· How does implicit bias influence behavior? (Links to an external site.)
· Is implicit bias a useful scientific concept? (Links to an external site.)
Then, access Harvard University’s Project Implicit (Links to an external site.)
Other than the Presidents implicit association test, select any two implicit association tests to take. After completing each, take screen grabs of the results and attach them as an appendix at the end of the reflections paper.
Compare/contrast your results in the two tests you chose. Did the results surprise you? Do your implicit associations match your conscious feelings? Reflect on how these results can be of use to you.
Write a 2-3 page paper relating your understanding of the meaning of implicit bias and reflecting on the results of your implicit bias tests.
In Week 7, you will revisit these same tests to compare/contrast the results.
