No need to quote directly from or cite lectures. Questions: Analyze four of the characters in “Lorelai” in terms of the relevant genres/sub-genres we have covered in class: “spiritist films,” “humanist films,” “combat films,” re-imagined histories. For each character find a counterpart character in one of the other films assigned for or seen in class and explain the similarities and/or differences between the two. Origasa is a Young mini sub pilot – spiritual struggle to discover what makes them Japanese. Masami – combat film Commander Masami – a brilliant destroyer of enemy ships, try to save Japan from the third atomic bomb why ? combat film : in my lecture, in combat film, it involves soldier sacrificing himself and becoming a hero scenes.
