Each person in a professional environment must perform his or her leadership role from a professional position as well as from the position of possessing particular knowledge. Virtually all members of a professional staff can and must provide that particular knowledge to ensure the success of the strategic planning process. Recognize that the planning process continues over time, when adjustments become necessary in the plan. It becomes critical to the success of the organization or program that leaders step forward to offer leadership to make those adjustments.

Post a discussion of what you consider to be your personal leadership qualities and how they have been exercised in your professional environment. Describe how your knowledge base is particularly unique to your perspective and your ability to contribute to a planning process.

Helping your constituents understand the changing trends in your organization can become a demonstration of your leadership.
