MECO 6935 US Impact of Advertising on Consumer Purchasing Behavior Discussion

Description

Operates as an independent document

This exegesis is a separate and unique project. It should contain its own conclusions and have its own structure. While the form of the reflection essay is at your discretion, it does need to be independent from the project and have its own focus and content.

Contains practical reflection

This is a reflexive document that provides constructive insights. The document should include practical advice for future projects or your own future work

Present accessible writing

The essay needs to be written and structured in a way that can be read and used by yourself and other parties. This means clear, communicative speech (though it does not need to be academic or formal).

Provide specific and interesting content

The quality of the essay will be assessed partially based on the extent to which insights are distinct and informative. Avoid content that is too general or obvious.

Your reflection essay tells the story of how you produced your research project, the challenges and opportunities it provided and how you tackled these. It is a critical reflection on your work that can be personal while also engaging with the scholarship relating to your project. In this way, the reflection enables you to connect your research to your professional aspirations. You can also explain how the research project fits into the bigger picture of what you’ve learned during your degree, how you’re building on this by producing your research project, and how it might assist you in achieving your professional goals after you graduate.

The reflection essay may be written in first person, using a less formal tone than a research essay, however it can also include scholarship and references where needed. These could refer to other research relevant to your topic, or scholarly literature on the role of exegeses in learning.

The following tips are suggestions only. You need not include all of these:

Record and analyse your research process
You may keep a diary of your progress throughout the semester and select from this when you come to writing your reflection

Provide context about your project
For example, Why did you choose this topic? What has contributed to your interest in this area? Or to your interest in this method? How does your project advance your studies since your commenced your degree? How might it assist you in future work?

How did you conduct the research?
Balance your account between your theoretical and practical approach
Describe what has inspired, informed, facilitated or constrained you work.
Describe what challenges you encountered in completing the work and how you overcame these

You may also use your reflection essay to include additional material you didn’t have space to include in your project
Consider how you might have approached the project differently
Consider what you could have done better, and how you might revise your approach if you did it again
