Identify a theoretical framework from the social sciences ie nursing, sociology, psychology for example, to guide your EBP project

Evidenced-Based Scholarly Paper: Week 7 ____________________________________________ 1. Using the Models to Guide Implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) as a guide, design an evidenced-based scholarly project (based on your research proposal) and create a scholarly paper suitable for publication for a nursing journal of choice (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2011, pp.241-272). Please note: Submitting your paper for publication is optional and follows course completion. a. Identify a theoretical framework from the social sciences ie nursing, sociology, psychology for example, to guide your EBP project. You may choose Watson’s caring theory or another model as described above to guide your project. Be sure to state the discipline which the model is from. b. Is it based on any Nursing theorist/or theory as foundation 2. Conduct a thorough review of the literature to locate the best evidence to assess the feasibility, benefits, and risks of implementing the new practice. 3. Identify the key stakeholders or change agents required for successful implementation. 4. Identify a practice change or proposed policy and/or other related to nursing 5. Implement the practice change if feasible for your selected capstone (example: Creating a policy, updating a policy, creating a manual, metasynthesis of the literature and other choices may not involve a practice change). 6. Evaluate the impact of the practice change on structure, process, and outcome measures. 7. Identify activities that will help sustain the change in practice (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2011, pp. 10-22, p. 245). EBP Scholarly Paper Guidelines A. Follow the APA format using the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) as a guide. (See syllabus guidelines for scholarly papers) B. Length of Paper 15 page minimum not including title page, supplements, and references. C. Include: Abstract Introduction of the topic (Evidenced Based Practice Project) * Project Description * Identify why the problem is significant D. Review of the Literature * Evaluate relevant research from peer reviewed scholarly nursing journals and other relevant peer reviewed scholarly journals to support and demonstrate the use of critical thinking in rational inquiry using nursing processes and current research to improve healthcare outcomes. * Include articles which demonstrate a direct correlation between evidence support your reason for choosing your topic. The majority of your references should be current within five years. In some cases you may be required to use other interdisciplinary scholarly journals and articles which are published within ten years yet, 60% or more of your articles should come from scholarly nursing journals. E. Theoretical Framework * Describe the premise of the selected theory and why it is a suitable choice. * Explain its application to your EBP project. Include one paragraph about how Watson’s caring theory applies to your project, as this theory serves as the theoretical framework for Keiser University graduate nursing programs. If you choose Watson as the theory for your project that will suffice for this section. If you choose different theory, you must add one concise paragraph how Watson’s caring theory applies to your project. F. Organizational Readiness * Timeline * Population impacted by the project if applicable (Culture, Ethnicity, Sex, Race, Disease, Social status, etc.) * Participants in the project * Ethical considerations * Type of intervention, education, project plan, or practice change * Discuss variables, obstacles, barriers, costs, cost savings * Tools, forms, standards, guidelines if applicable G. Project Evaluation/Outcomes H. Impact on Practice and/or Future directions I.
