1-page timeline (600w maximum) You are asked to create a developmental timeline across three distinct time periods of the lifespan. Choose one of the age-ranges below to focus on. You may present your timeline in any format, provided it fits on one page. We recommend to use either a report with headings or a visual infographic design. You will not be graded on your choice of format and multimedia if used, only on your content and attention to detail. Age range you may select from (choose one from option 1-3): (1) Prenatal development: 3, 6, and 9 weeks in utero (2) Toddlerhood: 1, 2, and 3 years of age (3) Childhood: 3, 6, and 9 years of age Your timeline should demonstrate the flow of development across the time period selected. The idea is to show the nature of human growth in this phase of life. This assessment will form the basis for understanding key changes and transitions in the early lifespan, which will equip students to consider developmental milestones in the following assignment. Your timeline can focus on a number of factors, including physical/biological, cognitive, and/or social development. Or, you can focus on one specific component of development and describe it in detail. Timelines that are more specific, demonstrating detailed research, will attract higher grades. In that sense, the lecture slides and readings, while providing a good starting point, will only serve as a springboard for your planning. Students are encouraged to conduct their own independent research to most successfully plan their assignment submission. A reference list can be included either in the footer or on a separate page and should be presented in APA (7th) format. The contents of the assignment does not need to adhere to any specific formatting or font requirements, but all references should be cited correctly in-text when used. Excellent understanding demonstrated of critical changes in development that occur at each of the three stages selected. At least 6 research sources have been used to document changes in development (i.e., 2 per stage) with clear insight into relevant factors at each stage. Written/visual approach is clearly presented, well-proofread with minimal grammatical, referencing, or expression errors present; the overall design is easy to follow and consistent.
